Successfully Defended Employee Against Alleged Breaches of Non-Competition and Non-Solicitation Agreements

In 2020, Karl S. Gwaltney and Edward H. Maginnis successfully defended an employee sued for allegedly violating a non-compete agreement and non-solicitation agreement when the employee left his employment with a large electrical company to start his own company.

The employer initially sued to enforce the terms of the non-compete and non-solicitation agreements and to collect hundreds of thousands of dollars in alleged damages. After being represented by another law firm, the employee made the decision to retain Maginnis Howard. After months of litigation, our attorneys were able to negotiate and secure a settlement where the client paid nothing and was able to keep operating his business.
