Failure to Pay Benefits Owed on Insurance Policy – $109,750.00 Payment of Denied Claim

In 2014, Edward Maginnis and Shawn Howard obtained on behalf of the Estate of deceased Raleigh man the payment of the full benefits owed under a Hospital Indemnity Benefits Policy.  His family’s claim for payment of the benefits was initially denied, as the insurance company argued that he had been engaged in criminal activity at the time that he sustained the injury leading to his death 5 months later.  Our attorneys were able to show that there was no admissible evidence that he was engaged in criminal activities.
