Apria Healthcare and Consumer Complaints

Apria Healthcare is one of the nation’s leading providers of home respiratory services and certain medical equipment, including oxygen therapy, inhalation therapies, sleep apnea treatment, and negative pressure wound therapy. Despite being one of the nation’s leaders in many important categories, they are not highly thought of according to the reviews that have been left on ConsumerAffairs.com.

We are currently investigating multiple reports of Apria Healthcare sending collection agencies after patients for fees that have already been paid and for double charging patients on their monthly fees. We have a current client who seemingly had everything resolved with Apria Healthcare, but just when it seemed like everything was fine, once again they sent a collection agency after our client for a debt that is not owed. There are multiple reviews on ConsumerAffairs.com that have accused Apria of similar things.

Our firm’s FDCPA lawyers are experienced in representing victims of unfair debt collection. In 2019, Ed Maginnis and Karl Gwaltney resolved a class action under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the North Carolina Collection Agency Act for $1,200,000.00.  In the case, a collection agency was attempting to collect debt, usually medical debt, from individuals who had filed a bankruptcy case and received a discharge (meaning they no longer owed the funds).

If you or someone you know have had similar problems with Apria Healthcare, or you are receiving calls from bill collectors, debt collectors, creditors or anyone else trying to collect a debt from you, even if the debt is actually or partially owed, you may be entitled to compensation if the debt collector or collection agency is acting inappropriately.

Our consumer law attorneys are committed to helping individuals and groups like you who have been wronged by big corporations, banks, creditors, and collection agencies.
